Welcome to Waverly High School where our mission is to, “Prepare students for their futures by being intentional about setting high expectations and creating opportunities for continual growth.” For the 2024-25 school year, we welcomed 689 high school students into the building with 154 Freshmen and 19 new students. Our programs are focused on preparing students for college and careers. Our goal is to provide programming that assists students find their path whether it leads to a 2 or 4 year college, trade school, military or directly into the workforce. Waverly High School graduates have been successful in all of these areas.
WHS offers over 20 sports and activities along with over 20 clubs for students to learn discipline, commitment and service to others. We believe it is important for students to be involved in school activities and learn to work with others as a team. The Vikings are members of the Eastern Midlands Conference and represent our district well in the NSAA State Competitions.
Entering my first full year as the principal of the building, I bring 33 years of educational experience to this position and a student focus of preparing young men and women for their futures. Our assistant principal, Kristin Delehant, brings 19 years of experience as a science teacher and district office curriculum and instruction to Waverly High School for her 3rd year here. Brad McMillan, in his 21st year in education, serves as our assistant principal/activities director for the 10th year. You can contact any of us with questions about our programs throughout the school year.
We are blessed to have three counselors (Jason Boitnott A-G, TJ Wynn H-0, and Kelly Verkamp P-Z), 45 teachers and other staff to support our students as they pursue their passions.
